So why was Porsche so (reportedly) hot under the collar over the ad? Turns out they’re not threatened by the Nissan’s performance. Rather, they object to the use of their logo in the ad, which was done without permission.

In the end, it didn’t come to a legal wrangle because Porsche approached Nissan and demanded it stop use of the logo, which Nissan did, changing it simply to the Porsche name. Legal action was threatened, at one point, however, according to the Guardian, so it wasn’t a completely amicable transaction.

Unfortunately , this tuning package is not necessarily a complex one as it only offers a new suspension system for the Panamera. H&R’s system allows the car to be lowered by around 35 mm. They have also added an H&R spring kit that improves the handling of the vehicle.

Sometime in the near future the tuner will also offer an ETS (electronic lowering system) for the air-suspension cars, but for now we only have a suspension system and a spring kit to play with. We are not really surprised by this lackluster package considering this is typical of H&R. The same type of tuning package was created for the 2010 Renault Megane Coupe-Cabrio last month.

The Panamera 4 is powered by a brand new 3.6 Liter Direct Injected V6 engine that develops a total of 300 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with Porsche’s (PDK) Double Clutch Gearbox and fuel saving Auto Start Stop function.

Porsche once more sets the standard for superclass automobiles with their Panamera – also when it comes to suspension. A challenge which the engineers at H&R willingly attended to work on. The result of the complex development is a spring set that brings the four-door and four wheel drive V6 vehicle with conventional suspension around 35 millimetres closer to the ground. The basic characteristics of the elegant and classic design are accentuated with this dynamic package – without weakening the overall concept of this luxury car. With the H&R spring kit the handling could also be made a shade more dynamic – needless to say that the comfort of this top class sportscar is not reduced.

An ETS (electronic lowering system) for the air-suspension cars will soon be available, too.

A further highlight can be obtained from the H&R TRAK+ Wheel Spacers made of high tensile aluminium. The small gap between the wheel arch and the edge of the wing can thus be visually perfected, which results in an even more powerful appearance.

Sportec

Sportec has unveiled a revised version of the SPR1 package dedicated Porsche 911 Turbo model. The creation of the tuning house is called SPR1R and will be presented at a Salon in London.

The German model has a six-cylinder 3.6 liters boxer engine  and with the changes made by Sportec it can produce 858 horsepower at 8200 rpm and can develop a maximum torque of 869 Nm at 4800 rpm. In addition to SPR1, the new package proposed by Sportec reduced by 50 kg the weight of the car. This weight reduction was possible thanks to the body panels made of composite material.

With the help of the SPR1R kit the Porsche sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and has a maximum speed of 380 km/h.

Both models are powered by a Porsche engine generation 3.6-liter V6 with direct fuel injection, developing 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

Following the tradition of Porsche Panamera transmits its power through the rear wheels on the road, while the Panamera four have active four-wheel drive as standard.

The two new variants are examples of Porsche Gran Turismo consistent development strategy “Intelligent Performance Porsche. Equipped with PDK (Porsche gearbox with double clutch) and Auto Start Stop, both models consume more than 10 liters of fuel per 100 km in the New European Driving Cycle: Porsche Panamera consumes only 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers, and Panamera 4 consume on average 9.6 litres/100 km. Tires “all year” 19”, low rolling resistance, are available as an option, it reduces consumption figures with another 0.2 liters per 100 kilometers.

The specs make for interesting reading. For starters, the 394bhp V8 found in the ‘S’ has been uprated to a substantial 450bhp. At the same time, engineers have shed 480kg to bring overall weight down to a suitable 1,320kg. It retains the rear wheel drive system but ditches the PDK in favour off a better, race focused, 6 gear sequential gearbox.

New brakes, suspension, wheels and tyres are all geared towards track performance. Finally, the car benefits from extensive aerodynamic adjustments with the front splitter, front and rear widened fenders and rear wing all coming from one supplier.
