Jaguar prepared a special edition XKR model for celebrating the 75 years of company establishment. XKR model is called 75 anniversary and will be produced in 75 copies. Company officials said that 75 Jaguar XKR will be unveiled on July 2 in the edition this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Jaguar and Land Rover have announced that their global sales in April raised by 61% to a total of 17,909 units worldwide.

On the other end of the spectrum, for instance, is the Mazda Tribute I 2WD – the least expensive vehicle to insure – which on average costs owners a modest $1,070.25 annually. Along with the Tribute I, the study found the least expensive vehicles to insure are the Honda Odyssey LX ($1095.26/year), Mazda Tribute I 4WD ($1103.29/year), Chrysler Town & Country LX ($1119.83/year), and the Jeep Wrangler X ($1124.38/year).

Looking across other categories, the study found that the Dodge Caliber is the least expensive passenger car to insure ($1,196/year), the GMC Canyon WT the least expensive pickup ($1,152.39/year), and the Honda Odyssey LX the least expensive minivan ($1,095.26/year) in average national premiums.

The Insure.com study covered more than 2,400 vehicles nationwide. To calculate the average premium for each model, the study used the following method:

“Averages are based on a single 40-year-old male driver who commutes 12 miles to work, with policy limits of 100/300/50 ($100,000 for injury liability for one person, $300,000 for all injuries and $50,000 for property damage in an accident) and a $500 deductible on collision and comprehensive coverage. The policy includes uninsured motorist coverage. Rates were averaged across 10 ZIP codes in each state and six major insurance companies.”

The profile of the average person that drives a particular model has considerable influence on the model’s average insurance rates, the study found. For example, smaller cars tend to be driven by younger, more inexperienced drivers and, therefore, tend to be more expensive to insure. Rates also tend to go up with horsepower, which is why the list of the most expensive cars to insure contains some of the most powerful vehicles available.

Because some models, especially exotic cars like Bentleys and Lamborghinis, are not available for calculating insurance, they were excluded in the study. However, you can bet their monthly premiums aren’t chicken feed.

The study cautioned that the average rates are for comparative purposes only and that auto owners’ personal rates will depend on their personal factors. Depending on one’s age, gender, and driving record, the cost to insure a vehicle could be significantly higher or lower than the national average for a particular model.

The XKR beast is powered by the same engine in the ground-breaking XFR that last year became the fastest Jaguar ever when it hit 225mph at Bonneville.
The fact that this monster of a Jaguar is actually going to be put into production will have die hard Jag fans the world over reeling with excitement.

That car was a one-off designed to show the capabilities of the 503bhp supercharged V8 engine, which was almost unaltered from the production unit found here in the XKR.

Even without the Speed Pack, the XKR is limited to the usual 155mph.

To reach the 174mph top out speed, Jaguar has altered the engine management and transmission software, while making aerodynamic alterations to the car’s body for improved stability.

Additionally, the front splitter is brand new on the Jag and the rear spoiler much bigger than the standard untouched model. The steering is also altered so that it’s slower - resulting in more stability - at speed.

The Speed Pack costs only £3,500 on top of the XKR’s £75,000 list price, a small price to pay for all that extra power, but it’s not available with the XKR Convertible for those that can resist a good pose.

Buyers looking for the ultimate Jaguar can also opt for the Black Pack, which is an extra £4,000 and is only available with the Speed Pack. Although Unsurprisingly, black is the main theme, so the awsome 20-inch trademark jaguar wheels are painted in a smooth black, along with the window surrounds, while the interior is finished in a beautiful black leather.

Many carmakers have been in business for more than the 75 years Jaguar celebrates this year, but few have the storied history of design or the motorsports heritage of the British marque. In the gallery we show you a few of the best of these cars, including the C-Type, D-Type, XJ220 and the XK120.

From its birth out of Swallow Sidecars with the 1935 launch of the SS 100, the Jaguar name was chosen by William Lyons, the founder of Swallow Sidecars, because it “was the closest thing we can create to something that is alive.” That vivid sense of fluid, living design has found its way throughout the brand’s cars ever since.

Combining a distinct taste for attractive design with real on-road and on-track capability defined Jaguar during the middle of the 20th Century, dominating many categories of motorsport in the 1950s thanks to the C-Type and D-Type race cars. Those two models took victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951, 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957. They were eventually followed by the legendary production-run E-Type, praised by many for its stunning lines and still one of the most-valued cars of its era at private auction.

But classic performance isn’t all Jaguar can lay claim to–from 1992 to 1994, the Jaguar XJ220 reigned as the fastest production car on the road, taking the title from the Bugatti EB 110. The honor was earned at the Nardo Ring in Italy, where the car hit a massive 217 mph. Despite this feat and its 542-horsepower output from a twin-turbo V-6 engine, the rear-wheel drive production XJ220 was actually full of compromises from the all-wheel drive and V12 engine of the concept car. Nevertheless, the car holds a place in the hearts of many an enthusiast, and in the record books, even though it was quickly outpaced by the McLaren F1, and eventually, the Koenigsegg CCR, Bugatti Veyron and SSC Ultimate Aero TT.

Under Ford’s ownership, Jaguar also participated in Formula 1 from 2000-2004, and though the team didn’t see much success, they did help further the careers of some notable racing drivers, including Mark Webber, Eddie Irvine, Pedro de la Rosa, and Christian Klien.

The company’s history in production cars is no less varied and interesting, and the gallery above shows off some of the highlights over the last 75 years.
