Dacia Duster stopped advertising in France

Renault was forced to withdraw an advertising slogan for running Dacia Duster in France, for misleading the public, according to a Commission decision on advertising ethics.

The Dacia Duster 1.5 dCi 110 hp is undoubtedly the best model ever left the factory gates in Mioveni. However, the Romanian manufacturer has managed to release the cheapest model in the segment, the economic engines, generous interior space and an affordable price. Leave aside the old stereotypes of the brand and most successful experiment with new Dacia model ever created the Duster!

Engine / Transmission

We tested the most powerful diesel in the Duster range and also the most powerful diesel engine ever available on a Dacia. The DCi unit is taken from the Renault-Nissan, has a displacement of 1461 cc and develops 110 hp at 4.00 rpm. Maximum torque is 240 Nm at 2,000 rpm and is supplied. At first glance sounds a bit, but we must not forget that the Duster has a mass of 1294 kg, with the all-wheel-drive system taken from Nissan. The small engine, but relatively potent Duster’s manual transmission is mated to a six reports. So yes! Finally, Dacia has launched a model with a six-speed transmission and four-wheel drive. I climbed into the car and we have tried to master the enthusiasm, while shifts and easily get the latest report – the sixth. In return, we recorded a consumption of 7.5 liters running at a speed of 120-140 km/h, but more consistently. Under extra-urban consumption we recorded a 7.5 liter in the Auto mode (four-wheel drive system alone decided how to share power between the axles). Transfagarasan to climb when the road was empty, we recorded an even lower consumption by 7.4 liters per cent. Performances

Dacia announces a time of 12.5 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h and maximum speed of this model is 168 km/h. Not very impressive, eh? Right, Duster is not a compact SUV segment performance or performer, but that does not mean you’ll be disappointed by his behavior on the road. Of course, everything depends on your expectations. If you think that any SUV Duster performance will, of course you’ll be disappointed, but if you climb behind the wheel with an open mind, you will find a relatively brisk on gears useful model in Romania. For example, at 3250 rpm in sixth gear, the speedometer’s display Duster 140 km / h, while it appears at 3,500 rpm with 10 km / h in addition. Meanwhile, at 1250 rpm it shows a value of about 60 km / h. In its segment, Duster is the last place of performance, but this model offsetting weakness in other benefits.
