More often than not, replica sightings on eBay capture our attention for all the wrong reasons, but once in a while, we find ourselves taking a second look to see if what we’re dealing with is real or not.
Such was the case with this Ferrari Enzo replica listed for sale in Germany, which was unearthed by CarScoop reader Bilal A.
Granted, the shape of the rear window covering the engine bay and the way it connects to the roof, or most parts of the interior including the gated shifter and the regular steering wheel, are a dead giveaway to the trained eye, but you have to admit that, overall, the builder of the car did a pretty good job.
As for motivation, you will find a tricked out BMW 5.0-liter V12 engine (likely from an 850i) producing 400-horses and connected to a six-speed manual.
The German seller adds that the car has a “glass fiber and carbon fiber composite body”, a brake system with 8-piston calipers up front and 6-piston calipers at the rear, a complete exhaust system sourced from an original Ferrari F50, and 19-inch wheels shod in Continental performance tires size 255/30 ZR 19 and 315/25 ZR 19 on the front and rear axle respectively.
At the time we wrote this piece, the highest bid on eBay was €40,000 (approx. US$52,800), though, the seller’s reserve had not been met.
Thanks to Bilal A. for the tip!
