Aston Martin has unveiled today the official photos of the V12 Zagato in its final form, what will be put on the market later this year. The custom-built by hand, will be priced at 405,000 pounds, the equivalent of 485,000 euros at current exchange rates. Shown as a concept car at Villa d’Este in May and in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Zagato has also participated in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
Its launch as a series is scheduled for the Concours d’Elegance of Kuwait, scheduled for next week, while the production of 150 units provided will be launched in September. Created to celebrate 50 years since the first collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato, the V12 is the result of a project begun work in early 2010 and stylistically defined by Marek Reichmann, the design director of the English house.
The Zagato, Reichmann points out, has an aesthetic very different from that of other Aston: beyond the characteristic double bubble, classic signature of the body in Milan, there are details like the front grille convex strongly suggestive of a “t -shirt too close to hide the underlying muscles, “in the words of the designer.
