Onboard video of Kimi Raikkonen setting his first ever WRC fastest stage time on SS19 (Circus Maximus) of Rally Germany 2010.
The 2007 Formula 1 world champion was embroiled in a battle with Matthew Wilson on the final day of Rallye Deutschland for sixth spot. It would be the Stobart driver who would claim the place in the end.
Räikkönen started the final leg with a set-up that was a little too soft. He said: “I overshot two junctions and we lost a lot of time. I’m disappointed at having made the mistake in the morning that cost us a place. But I enjoyed the stages on Saturday and Sunday. We’re continuing to rack up experience and that’s very important.”
Kimi Raikkonen’s co-driver Kaj Lindstrom said: “We are on the right road: with every rally we get better but we are climbing a very steep learning curve. The pace notes we made here were really good: unfortunately we had a couple of small mistakes that cost us what would have been a comfortable sixth place, but it’s just one of those things that comes with experience. For our first time here, we can definitely be happy – and we can also celebrate winning a stage.”
