Nissan: 400 recruitments in the English settlement of Sunderland. Toyota dismisses 750 employees
Nissan has announced it wants to create 400 additional temporary jobs in the Sunderland plant, which currently are produced models Qashqai, Micra and Note. In addition, 160 employees with fixed-term contract will be confirmed. The Japanese manufacturer is thus raising the workers to return to production in three shifts, for about 6 months, taking the sprint to the Qashqai restyling, expected during the month of March.
Toyota in the opposite situation, forced to cut 750 employees by next August. The plant in Burnaston (home of the Auris, Avensis and Auris Hybrid) has in fact blamed the effects of “a profound crisis of 2009 for the British car industry”, although the dismissal is justified by the lack of rationalization and low efficiency.
