Jaguar Celebrates 75 Years Of Racing And Design

Many carmakers have been in business for more than the 75 years Jaguar celebrates this year, but few have the storied history of design or the motorsports heritage of the British marque. In the gallery we show you a few of the best of these cars, including the C-Type, D-Type, XJ220 and the XK120.

From its birth out of Swallow Sidecars with the 1935 launch of the SS 100, the Jaguar name was chosen by William Lyons, the founder of Swallow Sidecars, because it “was the closest thing we can create to something that is alive.” That vivid sense of fluid, living design has found its way throughout the brand’s cars ever since.

Petter Solberg wins Svully Rally Dahbi in Norway

Petter Solberg continued with his Rally Sweden preparations this weekend by taking victory on the Svully Rally Dahbi in Norway.

Solberg was using his new 2009 spec Citroen C4 WRC and proclaimed himself satisfied with its performance as he claimed fastest time on all 9 stages.

The Norwegian finished well over five minutes ahead of Marcus Gronholm, who was driving a Group N Subaru Impreza cup car to get back into the swing of competitive driving ahead of Rally Sweden.

Toyota gas pedal recall woes spread to Peugeot / Citroën in Europe

The massive Toyota sticking-accelerator pedal recall has spread from the United States to Europe and even beyond Toyota-branded vehicles.

Approximately 90,000 Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1 minicars have been added to the list of afflicted models. PSA, the parent of Peugeot and Citroën, has a joint venture with Toyota in the Czech Republic that produces the 107, C1 and the related Toyota Aygo.
