British manufacturer is preparing a surprise for her fans but, at the Detroit Motor Show, where it seems to expose a new concept, named Moke, after the legendary off-road product model of Mini since the 60s.
Unofficial sources announce that Moke will provide the first direct contact with the public ready for mini-wheel drive for Coutryman, crossover whose debut is expected in the Salon in Geneva. In addition, the platform that was developed concept will be identical to that of the crossover’s series.
Although the Mini has hinted that the Moke will give birth to a production model, the concept could be the basis of an off-road-er pure small. If the public gets better new concept in Detroit and reactions are positive, then plan next Mini could include four models and not three as it was known until now.
If you see the light in the version number, Moke will be off-road alternative to crossover site coming this spring, an alternative that could take a body without a roof. A serial version of the model could begin towards the end of 2012 or early 2013.
