Official: Raikkonen out of the 2010 season Formula 1
Kimi Raikkonen’s manager confirmed that Finn has not reached an agreement with McLaren, the only team that negotiated for the next season in Formula 1
Kimi Räikkönen will not participate in the 2010 edition of World Championship Formula 1 with McLaren after negotiations failed. The information was published by the Finnish press, which itself quotes Raikkonen’s manager Steve Robertson.
“I had to choose between McLaren and a break for next season. Kimi and McLaren were unable to reach an agreement so that we speak of Raikkonen in F1 next season,” said Robertson for the Finnish daily Turun Sanomat.
The manager confirmed that the pilot Nordic Raikkonen has not negotiated with any other team in Formula 1, Kimi to explore opportunities in the motorsport following which it could address in 2010. Raikkonen’s withdrawal from Formula 1 is just a seasonal, Robertson claiming that Finn wants to return to the Grand Circle in 2011.
“Kimi is still full of desire to fly in Formula 1 at the highest level. A sabbatical year will not change anything in his perception,” says one who represents the interests of Raikkonen, it would pilot under contract with him remains one of the best on the market, despite the fact that Ferrari decided to give up its services in favor of Spaniard Fernando Alonso.
