How to Update Your Old Car
If you’re stuck with an old junker, don’t despair, there are plenty of ways for you to update its overall look and aesthetic appeal. Even if it’s from the early nineties, you can still make the boxy shape work for your look. You will just have to have a little extra spare cash hanging around to make it happen.
1. Change the color. Give it an updated look by changing the color of your car, especially if there’s a little bit rust damage. I wouldn’t recommend changing the color yourself, but you can go somewhere like Maaco and get the job done relatively cheap. Be careful when choosing the color, you don’t want to cheapen the look of your car with a bright yellow or cherry red color. Choose something classic and neutral, like black or silver. It will make your car look much classier.
2. Clean out the interior. Stuff can pile up over time if you use your car a lot. So go to a local gas station and pay to use one of those heavy duty vacuum cleaners they have out back. Vacuum every inch and be sure to throw out the huge pile of McDonald’s wrappers stuffed behind your backseat.
3. Wash your car. Ideally this should be done once a week if you can afford to, but it will definitely give you car an updated look, especially if you’ve gone out and gotten it a new paint job. And pay for the wax job at the end, it will give your car an extra sparkle that will hold up much longer.
4. Check out body kits and install one yourself. Installing a body kit yourself won’t be too difficult, as long as you thoroughly read the instructions. And it’s sure to give your car a more modern look. Make sure that when you purchase your aftermarket body kit that it’s made for your specific make and model, and that the manufacturer has a fitment guarantee.
Making your old car look new again shouldn’t be too difficult. Just make sure you take care of it and make a few modifications when necessary. As long as the inside and outside are extremely clean and fresh looking, it won’t matter what you drive.
