Daimler Chief: U.S. car market will recover until 2012 or 2013 “
Dieter Zetsche, head of Daimler AG, expects the car market in the United States to recover from the recession barely met before 2012 or even 2013. U.S. auto market could reach an estimated increase to 10 million units and 2010 sales will bring a level lying between 10 and 11 million units to North American levels.
That is why the sales forecasts from Daimler are among the most reserved of the industry, especially the United States market. This practice could help the Germans at Daimler to save big money by avoiding the formation of a stock of models. Also, Germans seek ways to amortize the costs of export models, with their production directly to the intended market – we speak here of locations that already have factories Daimler.
Despite forecasts reserved, the Daimler take into account the production of the Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse W204 at their factory in Vance, Alabama. Bodo Uebber, chief financial officer of Daimler company was in favor of increasing production capacity in the U.S. and the construction of new models in the Daimler factory in America. Daimler Corporation wants to eliminate some 4 billion in unnecessary spending and make savings at the same level during the next year.
